FAKE-OUT POLICE DOG

EDMOND, Oklahoma -- A police officer worked like a dog to capture a suspected trespasser.

Officer Bryan Weathers and his partner, Officer Jeff Meadows, chased a man who was trespassing on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma. Meadows said he yelled that he would release a police dog, and told the man, "Come out, if you don't want to get bit."

Weathers then began growling and barking. The man came out and surrendered.

"As he was handcuffed, he kept saying, 'Where's the dog? Where's the dog?'" Weathers said. "My partner slapped him on the shoulder and said, 'There's no dog, buddy.'"

The suspect was arrested on charges of trespassing and fleeing arrest.

"We were all laughing about it afterward," Weathers said. "I've got a lot of bark, but no bite."
